So I saw this video on instagram by an 18year old Divyangana Trivedi, it was a video with message but with a stupid ass articulation skill. She missed a point while making a point that we have had enough of people telling us what feminism is, what way of life is, how it works etc etc etc..
I watched her video only because she reminded me of Anushka Sharma but there were times when I thought if she made more sense than any nonsense filmy character that anushka had tbh this real life kid reached none. I understand her intention of making the world believe and understand that the world is bad, women today take advantage of such opportunity but she must never forget that this exists, and the situation may sometimes get worse but there always is a need for feminism, as rightly said by an Instagramer that if feminism has female then human has man let that thought sink and then there are no woman in human. I don’t want to go in detail about what she said, tbh I found it amusing for an 18year old commenting on a sensitive topic like feminism, I agree that men are also not treated right, approx 3years ago I wrote a blog about how being a man isn’t easy (https://wp.me/p7d62L-V) And I agree about the problems but what Divyangana missed is that women get harrassed for doing night shift in a country like India, I have had colleagues asking me ‘gharwale allow karte hai’ (people at home allow you to work this late) I have had men asking me ‘How badly do you need this job. I have had men trying to molest me with a fact that I was an independent woman looking for better opportunities where he thought he can sleep with me because I needed a pay raise, of course doing it or not was my choice but what I want to tell you is that people misuse the power given to them.
Just like you spoke of misogyny and pseudo feminism. Let me tell you that I am sure even men suffer similar things but we have always been suppressed. You haven’t even graduated to understand these problems and I would suggest that you stay away from commenting on things like this because you aren’t there yet. I have lost opportunities because they I am 26 now and they want to know my marriage plan. I have lost opportunities because I was a female and they thought I wouldn’t be able to give enough logic(Because women can’t make rational decision) as much as a man would. If you ever happened to travel in a first class compartment of Mumbai local you’d see that woman are always stared at by 70% of the crowd and it is disrespectful. I am sure men as well as molested somewhere but they aren’t conscious about just standing in a corner of the train.. men have become the Brahmins of this era, they did wrong and now they aren’t considered anything but people who did wrong. I agree all of them are not the same but same with feminist’s, all are not same.
You said a point where you said earn a place, earn a position so that people respect you, if people only respect a position how on earth do you expect any human to respect anyone. Your ideology should be that ‘I would respect everyone unless and until someone gives me a reason not to’ But you are a snob 18 year old who’s has it easy in life. Ever met a woman who works hard as a maid and her husband hits her in the middle of the road?? I have!
That’s why Feminism exists..and I agree that men are wronged as well I don’t want you to think you are right when you call feminist as people of no authentic intentions.
Many people have exist with different way of life it is as simple as the time when I saw someone from a reservation category in college pay 400 rs as fees while I paid 17k and pursue my BMS graduation.
This guy’s father was a well settled officer in railway and he was right af yet he laid just paid 400rs, this was unjust to both the genders. Can you do anything about this?
The people of open category suppressed people long back and there will be pros and cons now. This should be your goal, introducing colleges with only merit admission system while you are focusing on feminism not feminism. Fight for human. Or not a human. I hope you get what I am saying.
There are people exploiting the power and there are people who actually need power you can’t turn the situation right, I know your intentions were right but kid if I have learnt on thing about Communication it is that ‘It is not what you is , it is how you say it too’
And to be honest even if she is happy about whatever pays the bill she deserves respect. I agree that some woman take advantage of the power but it is the same with the woman, while I understand there is gender inequality, the division in society already exists, there is a whole new world that exists, there is a whole new world that you got to experience little kid.
